Assessment Appeals
ASSESSMENT APPEALS DIVISION OF THE CLERK OF THE BOARD receives and processes applications for changed assessment; schedules and publishes hearings in accordance with legal requirements; maintains the official records of the Appeals Boards; provides administrative support to Assessment Appeal Board members and Hearing Officers; and provides assistance to the general public on the assessment appeals process.
Deborah Bishop, Deputy Clerk of the Board, is the supervisor of the Assessment Appeals Division
; she has worked in the Clerk of the Board’s office for 28 years and within the Assessment Appeals Division for 20 years. Ms. Bishop is a participating member of the Clerks Legislative Committee that reviews the Assessment Appeals rules and procedures that apply to all California counties. Her staff consists of seven Board Assistants that provide information to the public about the Assessment Appeals process and the various filing deadlines for Applications for Changed Assessment.
